State Representative Steve Frisbie has announced the allocation of $30,000 from Michigan’s Local Development and Social Infrastructure (LDSI) initiative to the Bronson Health Foundation. The funding is intended to enhance child abuse prevention education efforts in Calhoun County.
“Every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment,” Frisbie said. “By securing LDSI funding, we’re giving the Bronson Health Foundation the tools to expand evidence-based training and outreach with schools, churches, and community groups — so every parent, caregiver, and neighbor knows how to protect kids and stop abuse before it happens.”
The grant will support programs aimed at teaching parents, educators, and community members how to identify signs of abuse, report concerns, and respond appropriately. These measures are designed to strengthen protective systems for children throughout Calhoun County.
The House Budget that includes these grants will proceed to the Senate for consideration. Residents seeking additional information have been encouraged to contact Rep. Frisbie’s office.
