State Representative Steve Frisbie has announced that the City of Albion will receive $32,000 to purchase body cameras for its police officers. The funding aims to provide officers with updated recording equipment intended to improve transparency and accountability in law enforcement.

“Body cameras provide valuable documentation and help build trust between law enforcement and the community,” Frisbie said. “This grant will ensure Albion’s officers have the tools they need to do their jobs safely and responsibly.”

The grant includes provisions for secure data storage and officer training. The new body cameras are expected to be deployed later this year.

The House Budget containing these appropriations is set to move forward to the Senate for consideration. Residents seeking further information are encouraged to contact Representative Frisbie’s office.
