79.3% of Lapeer County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 88,644 citizens living in Lapeer County in 2021, 79.3% were old enough to vote, equating to 70,329 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 35,958 were male, constituting 51.1%, and 34,371 were female, making up 48.9%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Lapeer County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 78.2%.
