BCPD to host Trunk or Treat event Oct. 31

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Battle Creek Police Department will host the 10th annual Trunk or Treat event on Halloween night, Monday, Oct. 31, from 5-7 p.m.

Families are welcome to attend the event again this year at Bailey Park, 1392 Capital Ave. NE. Event volunteers will hand out candy in the parking lot in front of C.O. Brown stadium, closest to the main, Eaton Street, park entrance. Visitors can park in this parking lot and then walk over to the event.

The annual Trunk or Treat is a free event and is open to the public. All Bailey Park entrances and exits will be open.

Those wishing to support this annual, community event can donate to the Battle Creek Police Department Law Enforcement Community Education Community Project Fund, a fund of the Battle Creek Community Foundation. Please make checks payable to BCCF/PDLAW and mail to Battle Creek Community Foundation, 32 W. Michigan Ave., Suite 1, Battle Creek, MI 49017. Those interested also can donate on the Community Foundation’s website, https://bccfoundation.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1846.

As a reminder, the City of Battle Creek does not regulate Halloween in any way. The holiday is on Oct. 31 – a Monday this year – and trick or treating hours are at neighbors’ discretion. Please enjoy your Halloween activities in groups when possible, use flashlights or reflective clothing after dark, and only visit homes with outdoor lights on.

We appreciate everyone’s support for this great, community event. Please enjoy your Halloween activities with safety in mind.
