CLIO CITY CHARTER AMENDMENT.
Registered voters of the City of Clio will be asked to consider a charter amendment transferring the duties of chief accountant from the City Clerk to the City Treasurer this November 2022.
It has been difficult for the City to find candidates for City Clerk that have the skillset or interest for both those duties and responsibilities typically associated with the City Clerk (elections, recording minutes, keeping the records, etc.) and accounting and finance.
In addition, it is more common for the City Treasurer to be a city's chief accountant.
