Several thousand neighbors across the city soon will see in the mail our latest National Community Survey – and we want you to tell us everything!
We are a bit delayed, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the great number of projects happening in the city. This is our overall community and city service survey we ask neighbors to complete every three years; we released the same survey in 2015 and 2018. You can see more information, and the results from those, on our website: battlecreekmi.gov/172/Community-Surveys.
If you receive this survey mailing – signed by Mayor Mark Behnke – please complete the survey and mail it back, or use your individual URL to complete it online. This is your chance to tell the city how we are doing at providing services to you, our neighbors. It also gives us a chance to learn about you, and your thoughts and preferences, so we can serve you better, right where you are in life and in our community.
Coming at the end of May, look for a link on our website to an online version of the survey, available to anyone in the community. Sending the survey by mail allows us, first, to ask for feedback from a random sampling of neighbors across the city, to make sure we reach a group that fully represents Battle Creek. But we also want to make sure we give all city neighbors the chance to respond to the survey.
The survey will be available to you in English on paper, and in Burmese, English, and Spanish online. Look for special links on the mailings you receive.
We appreciate everyone’s participation, and look forward to sharing the results with you later this summer; we will collect survey responses until early June, and expect to have reports back in July.
The National Community Survey is from the National Research Center at Polco. It gathers information from neighbors about community livability and perspectives about local government services, policies, and management. It then compares local results to other communities across the country, helping communities make data-based decisions.
