CALHOUN COUNTY VISITORS BUREAU: Home2 Suites has that New Hotel Smell

Trust

Calhoun County Visitors Bureau issued the following announcement.

Battle Creek has a refreshing new hotel that is built to feel like home.

Home2 Suites fills in the gap for an extended stay experience, with kitchens, plenty of closet space, pull-out couches for family and access to a laundry room.

“It even has that new hotel smell,” General Manager Drew Larson said.

There are 96 rooms in total, that range from studio suites to one-bedroom apartments.

It’s striking how much natural light fills the rooms. The back of the hotel faces a field and woods, where Larson has said he’s spotted deer, foxes and turkeys.

While Home2 is a favorite for business travelers, the new hotel has recently served people in town for a golf tournament and someone who needed a place to stay while construction was going on at his house.

Set by Harper Village, there’s a Meijer across the street so guests can stock up their kitchens and avoid going to a restaurant for every meal.

Avoiding restaurants can be especially useful right now, with COVID-19 still spreading.

It’s challenging for any hotel, but Home2 has risen to the occasion while continuing with opening plans.

“Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning,” Larson said about the current work.

There are restrictions they have to follow now, but they will slowly roll out more features as things change.

Home2 will eventually open the pool, free breakfast bar, gas grills for guest use and a fitness area.

“It’s like a small Planet Fitness here,” Larson said.

If COVID-19 has you stir-crazy at home, Home2 would be a great staycation option. It is close to Binder Park Zoo, Station 66 and outdoor recreation.
