A Huron County sheriff's deputy has been accused of exposing himself to a Port Austin woman multiple times, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said.

Deputy Patrick O'Brien was charged with three counts of indecent exposure, Fox 17 reported. His court arraignment came after the Michigan State Police investigated the case.

O'Brien allegedly exposed himself to the woman on July 26 and 27 in Port Austin. His exposure was allegedly intentional, and he masturbated in a place visible to the public through a window.

He is now on administrative leave.

“Police officers are expected to know the rules, and we cannot turn a blind eye to those who choose to neglect their duties and violate the very laws they are meant to enforce,” Nessel told Fox 17. “Since I took office, I have consistently advocated for law enforcement accountability, and my office will take action against anyone who breaks the law -- regardless of whether they have a badge or not.”

On Sept. 3, O'Brien will appear before the court for a probable-cause conference.
