“I grew up in Shiawassee County, I went to kindergarten at Nellie Reed, and then first grade in Corunna, and from second grade on we lived in Owosso.

I have worked for the City of Owosso for 25 years, I was hired on March 2, 1998. I started at the Wastewater Plant but then we had a big wind storm in 1998. The wind storm took down all kinds of trees and just made a mess of the town. We spent pretty much all summer cleaning up. I moved down to DPW then and I've been in the garage ever since.

I retired from the Army so this is going to be my second retirement. I’d like to do some fishing. I have two grandkids, a granddaughter and a grandson. I’m going to babysit them over the summer and am looking forward to that.  My family came here from Scotland, so my wife and I would like to go to Aberdeen up in the Highlands or maybe take the grandkids on a vacation.”

We would like to wish Doug Morrice a happy retirement. Thank you for your service to the City of Owosso, Doug!
