SHS is partnering with City of Owosso Government to pilot a new field trip program for our shelter dogs called City Paws.
Each Friday, a shelter dog gets to visit City Hall and hang out for a few hours. This allows our dogs to have a break from the noisy shelter, hang out with the staff, go for lunchtime walks, and even visit with other friends around town. It is also a great way for our available dogs to meet a new audience of potential adopters!
Hank was our inaugural City Paws dog. This handsome 10 year old boy is currently in foster care for medical treatment, but we hope he will be available soon. He gets along well with other dogs, is housebroken and he loves to swim. Hank is super sweet and originally came to SHS as a stray. You can keep an eye on our website at www.shspets.org to see when he becomes available if you are interested in adopting.
We would like to send a huge thank you to the staff at city hall for organizing the City Paws program and finding creative ways to support our shelter pets. We are very grateful for your kindness.
Stay tuned each Friday to check out our featured City Paws dog!
