Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire at Battle Creek Central High School at approximately 11:00 a.m. Upon investigation Engine 2 discovered a small fire in the second-floor men's bathroom that had been extinguished by the School Officer Liaison. Heavy smoke was present throughout the second floor and the entire school was evacuated, with all students accounted for. Car 3 assumed command, Rescue 3, Squad 2, and Squad 6 assisted in ventilation, while Rescue 4 and Engine 5 staged for backup support. The Fire Marshal arrived on scene and determined the fire investigation is believed to be arson.
