CITY OF BATTLE CREEK MI GOVERNMENT: Snowtification Update and Information

Update

City of Battle Creek MI Government issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

Snowtification is the priority listing for how we plow the different types of streets in our city.

Find the map we reference at the link below, to help you visualize!

1. State trunklines (state-designated highways) and major roads -- 200+ lane miles. The state trunks are the thick black and white lines, the majors are the thick black lines.

Even if plows have moved on from these, weather conditions may require that they go back.

2. Battle Creek Transit routes and around our schools (but not school bus routes).

3. Residential/local streets -- 400+ lane miles. These are the thin black lines.

4. Alleys and cul-de-sacs. Smaller pickup trucks plow these. Alleys are marked on the map in red, along with the Air National Guard Base streets.
