BATTLE CREEK CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL: COVID-19 School Schedule and Nutrition Update

Schedule

Battle Creek Central High School issued the following announcement.

Beginning Monday, BCPS schools are on state-mandated closure until April 6. Schools are currently scheduled to be closed for spring break April 6–10. As of now, it is planned for school to remain closed the week of April 6–10, but this may change. Eleven counties across Michigan share this spring break week, and we are following the lead of the state and county on whether school will remain closed during that time as planned. We do not yet have any information about how this closure may impact the schedule for the remainder of the school year. We will share any new information as it becomes available.

We are planning to provide meals for students during closure with the understanding that school breakfasts and lunches are very important sources of nutrition for many of our families.

We will be distributing meal packs at each elementary building, BCCHS, and several locations throughout the community. Meal packs will include breakfasts and lunches and are for pickup only — food will not be served on location.

During this time we will also be passing out books at each distribution location to support literacy and celebrate Reading Month while our students are out of school.

Meal pickups will be available between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Next week: Tuesday 3/17, Wednesday 3/18, Friday 3/20.
  • Week of 3/23: Monday 3/23, Wednesday 3/25, Friday 3/27.
  • Week of 3/30: Monday 3/30, Wednesday 4/1, Friday 4/3.
  • Additional pickup locations will be announced soon.
Families who could not pickup medicines or other essentials from school on Friday 3/13 will be able to do so next week on the meal pack distribution days listed above, between 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Please stay tuned. We hope to have more information to share soon.
