Battle Creek Times

Battle Creek Central High School issued the following announcement.

As you are all aware, beginning today, BCPS schools are on state-mandated closure until April 6.

From March 17 – April 3, we will be distributing free breakfast and lunch for all children under 18 years old and any person with special needs under age 26.

The first meal pickup window is TUESDAY, MARCH 17. The remainder of pickups will occur Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Meal packs are for pickup only — food will not be served on location. Meal packs include breakfasts and lunches, with enough meals to last until the next available pickup.

Meal pickup is available at every elementary school and Battle Creek Central High School, as well as several locations throughout the community. Any family may pick up at any location convenient to them. Children/special needs individuals do not need to be present for a parent or guardian to pick up their meals and do not need to be enrolled at Battle Creek Public Schools to receive free meals.

Meals available at all BCPS elementary schools and Battle Creek Central High School from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, and each following Monday, Wednesday and Friday through April 3:

• Dudley STEM Elementary: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 308 West Roosevelt Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49037
• Fremont International Academy: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 115 East Emmett Street, Battle Creek, MI 49017
• LaMora Park Elementary: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 65 North Woodlawn Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49037
• Post-Franklin Elementary: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 20 Newark Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49014
• Valley View Elementary: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 960 Avenue A, Battle Creek, MI 49037
• Verona Elementary: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 825 Capital Avenue NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017
• Battle Creek Central High School: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 100 West Van Buren Street, Battle Creek, MI 49017

Additional pickups are also available on Tuesday, March 17, and each following Monday, Wednesday and Friday through April 3, at the following times and locations. Buses will be parked in these locations, handing out packets:

• Brookside Apartments: 11:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., 4201 W Dickman Rd, Springfield, MI 49037
