Washington Avenue Project

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Beginning tomorrow morning, a city contractor will begin project work on Washington Avenue, between Michigan Avenue and Goodale Avenue.

Tuesday morning beginning at 7 a.m. work will begin on concrete curbs and ramps on Washington Avenue, between Michigan Avenue and Goodale Avenue.  The project also includes milling and paving that is scheduled to take place in early September.

During this work, intermittent lane closures, traffic shifts, and one-way traffic are expected.

Pedestrians and motorists should be aware of construction areas and follow posted signs and flagger instructions.

The work hours for the project are from 7:00 a.m. until 7 p.m.  The work is expected to be complete by the end of September, weather permitting.

Emergency vehicles and local traffic will have access during this time.  We will continue to provide updates as necessary.

We appreciate everyone’s patience during these work times.
