Battle Creek Public Schools issued the following announcement on Sept 8.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, two bus routes will be temporarily suspended. This means bus service will temporarily be unavailable for some students at Ann. J, LaMora Park and BCCHS beginning Thursday, September 9, 2021. The Whale bus (#7647), which transports for Ann J. and LaMora Park, and the Cow bus (#7602), which transports for BCCHS, are on pause due to COVID-19 concerns. Phone call notifications have been sent to affected families.
We are hopeful that service will be restored within two weeks. If you are able to make other transportation arrangements, we advise you to go ahead and do so. Battle Creek Public Transit will be offering free service to any school aged child between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. from now through October 1. Please see here for information on routes and schedules.
If you’re not sure if your student is affected, please contact your building office or the BCPS Helpdesk at helpdesk@battlecreekpublicschools.org.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we do our best to secure a way for students to get to school amid this extremely challenging situation. Please stay tuned for more updates.
