Battle Creek Public Schools issued the following announcement on Aug 13.
We Can't Wait to Welcome You Back
An amazing new start is just around the corner! We’re excited to welcome students and staff back to school on August 25, 2021, which will be a half-day for students.* We look forward to a positive school year full of learning and discovery. After an unpredictable school year last year, we are thrilled to see our Bearcats come together. We are ready for everything this exciting new year holds, and as a community, we are stronger than ever!
The health and safety of our students, families and staff are our top priority. Based on updated recommendations from the CDC and local health department, masks will be required for all students, staff and visitors at all times when indoors, except when eating or drinking, regardless of vaccination status. We are working closely with state and local health officials and will keep you updated on any changes.

Join us for back-to-school Open Houses at your child’s school!
Each school’s Open House is a chance to meet your student’s principal and teachers, get to
know other parents, ask questions and hear more information about the 2021-22 school year. Masks will be required for anyone entering the buildings and there will be some other guidelines in place to ensure a safe and successful event for everyone.
Kindergarten families will be able to pick up a free backpack filled with tons of great learning supplies for your student. If you can’t attend the Open House and need to coordinate another time to pick up your child’s backpack, please reach out to Director of Elementary Education Chandra Youngblood at cyoungbl@battlecreekpublicschools.org.
