Homer Community School District issued the following announcement on Aug 6.
My name is Cory Parrott. It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the incoming principal of Homer High School. It is truly an honor to become a part of the Homer family and community.
I come to you with 17 years of experience as an educator. I spent 9 years teaching elementary and middle school in the Western School District. Most recently I served 8 years in Northwest Community Schools as an Assistant Principal at Kidder Middle School.
I plan to get to know our building, our community and familiarize myself with the unique needs of our school. I believe wholeheartedly that every student deserves a quality education and that only happens when the school and the families work together for the best interest of our children. I will work hard to continue the success at Homer High School by building strong relationships with students, parents, staff and community partners.
I am truly honored to be given this opportunity and look forward to immersing myself in our school and in our community. I believe that I have a responsibility to put our teachers in the best possible position to be successful, as they will in turn put our children in the best possible position for success.
I look forward to meeting all of you!
