Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 795 Wagner Dr., Williamsburg Apartments. Engine 2 and Car 3 arrived within four minutes to find smoke showing from a 2nd story window. A hose-line was extended and the fire was quickly extinguished. Ground ladders were used to assist an occupant from an adjoining apartment to safety. Rescue 3, Rescue 4, Squad 4, Engine 6 and Squad 6 were also on scene assisting with fire control and building evacuation. Due to the quick actions of the fire department and early notification, the fire was under control within ten minutes and no injuries were reported. The occupant of the fire apartment was not home at the time of the fire. The fire was determined to have started from an electrical outlet.
