First Day of School Delayed to Monday, August 31, 2020
Harper Creek Families,
I am reaching out with very important news. After careful consideration, I am delaying the start of the school year until Monday, August 31st.
The three-day delay will allow teachers to best prepare for safety training and protocols, as well as fine-tune lesson plans. When numbers were reviewed after Friday’s deadline for choosing modes of learning, we found it necessary to shift teachers between grade levels, as well as shift teachers from in-person instruction to virtual instruction.
We heard you. We heard the majority of the community request in-person learning and are doing our very best to bring a high-quality, safe in-person experience for students and families AND ensure we are following all safety guidelines and protocols. It is an enormous endeavor that we are committed to tackle for you.
I will continue to be transparent and timely in information and intent. Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this unprecedented time. Together we will succeed.
