2019

Kellogg Community College issued the following announcement.

The Kellogg Community College men’s basketball team won at it’s latest away game 99-61 against arch rival Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

Leading for the Bruins were sophomore Gregorye Windom, who had 18 points; freshman Eddie Wesley, who had 16 points and 5 assists; freshman Dashaan Palmer, with 14 points and 8 rebounds; sophomore Jamari Thomas-Newell, who had 12 points and 8 rebounds; sophomore Zackary Sims, with 11 points and freshman Tahveayr Boykins, who had 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

“It was cold outside but the Bruins were hot inside at last night’s game against Kalamazoo Valley.” Said Head Men’s Basketball Coach Gary Sprague. “KCC jumped out to a 17-1 lead and never looked back. Greg Windom and Eddie Wesley came off the bench and scored all of their combined 34 points in the second half. The Bruins used the 3-point shot as their main weapon hitting 18 of 40 three-pointers. They also turned the ball over only one time in the game. Every player on the team scored with the final two coming on a dunk by Larry Patrick. The Bruins are home this Saturday for a 3 p.m. game against Glen Oaks. “

The recent win brings the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 9-13; the team’s conference record is 6-5.

The team’s next match is home on campus in Battle Creek at the Miller Gym. Tip-off is at 3 p.m Saturday, Feb. 8 versus GOCC. Admission to all KCC athletic events are free.
