City of Battle Creek issued the following announcement on Sept.12
Yesterday, this group was in Traverse City to attend an American Water Works Association / Michigan Section AWWA conference, and receive two awesome awards.
Our Verona Pumping Station operator, Bob Koehn, received the Edward Dunbar Rich Service Award, for a career of 25 years or more in the safe drinking water industry.
Our entire team won the first inaugural Professional Excellence - Organization Award for our emergency response to the February water main break. Battle Creek was recognized for "exceptional contribution to the water sector through its well-practiced and now proven emergency response plan." The February response was "a remarkable testament to great leadership and teamwork."
