CITY OF BATTLE CREEK: Suspicious East Burnham fire under investigation
Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the old American Stamping Co. on the corner of East Burnham Street and Fonda Avenue. Rescue 3 and Car 3 arrived within four minutes to find flames showing from the second floor on the east end of the abandoned factory. Car 3 assumed command. Rescue 3, Squad 4 and Engine 6 extended a large diameter handline to extinguish the fire.

All stations responded to a possible structure fire at the Griffin Pub, located downtown at 38 W. Michigan Ave. Car 3, Engine 2, and Rescue 3 were first on the scene to discover an outside electrical box had started a small fire in the mulch at the rear of the structure. E2 performed interior investigations, and R3 proceeded to the roof for inspection.
