Harper Creek Community Schools Education: 2,819 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 2,819 students enrolled in Harper Creek Community Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.3% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.2% of them were boys, and 48.8% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 82.3% of the Harper Creek Community Schools total enrollment.

Harper Creek Community Schools covers five schools within Calhoun County with its main office in Battle Creek. Among them, Harper Creek High School recorded the highest enrollment of 904 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state’s average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students’ average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
