The Battle Creek City Connection Podcast’s Housing Series has released a new episode focusing on the work of the Calhoun County Land Bank Authority. The discussion highlights how foreclosure-prevention initiatives have led to a significant decrease in the number of properties managed by the Land Bank, dropping from 1,300 to just over 600.

In this episode, guests Krista Trout-Edwards and Darcy Schmitt discuss changes in neighborhoods throughout Battle Creek and Albion. They also share stories about local history, including unique features like 33-foot-wide Post-Franklin lots and the shifting role of the Land Bank in community revitalization.

The episode is available on the City of Battle Creek YouTube channel as part of an ongoing series about housing issues and community development. Additional episodes are planned for the future, and residents are encouraged to participate in upcoming events such as a Fair Housing Workshop scheduled for Thursday, March 5.
