The Battle Creek Fire Department and the Battle Creek Police Department have started holiday toy drives to assist local families. Both departments are working with community organizations to collect donations.

The Fire Department is gathering new, unwrapped toys for The Salvation Army. Community members can bring their donations until December 15 to any of the city’s six fire stations during designated hours at the following locations: 195 E. Michigan Ave., 145 N. Washington Ave., 222 Cliff St., 8 S. 20th St., 1170 W. Michigan Ave., and 2401 Capital Ave. SW.

Meanwhile, the Police Department is collaborating with the U.S. Marines and Target for its annual “Stuff the Truck” event, supporting Toys for Tots. Officers and Marines will be outside Target at 5700 Beckley Rd. on Wednesday, December 3, from 5-7 p.m., collecting toys, games, and monetary contributions.

“Together, we can make a difference for local families this holiday season,” stated organizers from both departments.
